Keegan Hayes (Capital Region)
Keegan Hayes is Program Manager for Entrepreneurship at the Center for Economic Growth in Albany, NY. Through this role, he is responsible for fostering growth in the entrepreneurship ecosystem throughout the Capital Region. Before CEG, he was involved in starting several startup companies, worked with startup leaders in the area to organize and host two Startup Weekends in Saratoga Springs, NY. Keegan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing & Management from Siena College.
Max Weber (Saratoga Springs)
Max is a native of Skaneateles, NY and was born and raised in the Syracuse area. Weber has a successful decade-long history of NYC startup experience in building teams and scalable infrastructure with past roles on Wall St and AOL. Currently at Spotify, he leads the Global Advertising CRM practice. Weber has recently relocated to the Capital Region and intends to share his experience and knowledge to enhance the growth and presence of the upstate startup economy.
Stephanie Qian Wang (Ithaca)
Stephanie is an undergraduate student in information science, business and French studies at Cornell University and a teaching assistant for Professor Dan Cosley’s Introduction to Web Design and Programming course. On campus she is the assistant webmaster in College of Human Ecology, and sector analyst of the Mutual Investment Club of Cornell. This summer she is working as a technology associate at the renown Upstate NY Venture Accelerator, StartFast.
Ryan Bilak (Rochester)
Founder of Maker Marketing Group, Ryan Bilak is passionate about helping businesses reaching their full sales and marketing potential. Ryan started his first business in the 5th grade, needless to say, he has the entrepreneurs spirit. After starting numerous businesses, Ryan took his experiences and put them to work for Maker Marketing Group. Ryan has been featured in the Rochester Business Journal several times for his accomplishments, and served on the Dean’s Advisory Council at St. John Fisher College where he received he bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
Chad Taggart (Rochester)
Chad is an experienced marketer and consultant in Rochester, NY. After spending several years at Time Warner managing their in-house creative team, he worked in the ad agency world and then as a consultant for several startups. His current role of director of audience development at the esteemed Rochester Business Journal allows him to stay immersed in the business community while helping to deliver the valuable content to those that will benefit from it most. He holds a bachelors in Communications from The College at Brockport and a masters in advertising from Syracuse University.
David Thiemecke (Buffalo)
David believes that startups are the best way to sustainably transform our economy in Upstate NY and keep friends close. He co-founded Algonquin Studios in Buffalo, NY in 1998, and went on with his partners to start more than nine other businesses since then. Together, they’ll launch an accelerator focused on healthcare IT startups, VCAMP. David enjoys mentoring founders and serves on the board of Startup Grind Buffalo and Startup Scramble. Thiemecke earned an Executive MBA from the University at Buffalo, and BS in Computer Science and Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. He’s a Buffalo native.
