The new uvcdevelopment.wpengine.com website is a portal for discovering and connecting with the people and organizations driving high growth businesses in Upstate NY.
When we started UVC in 2010, we had a dream that one day, high growth founders anywhere in Upstate NY would easily connect with the resources necessary for success without pulling up stakes. Today we have a community of over 10,000 founders and supporters, 100+ startup/tech events each month, six new seed funds, and lots of college entrepreneurship programs.
The speed with which our community is growing forced us to reimagine a virtual infrastructure for our geography. Then we set out to build it so that anyone could contribute and benefit from the larger ecosystem. We present to you the new uvcdevelopment.wpengine.com—a portal for discovering and connecting with the people and organizations driving high growth businesses in Upstate NY.
Four things about uvcdevelopment.wpengine.com that we’re really proud of:
- Our new UNY Ecosystem Map showcases the resources that power the growth of our ecosystem. Each entity has its own page, and you can signup to update content. Any ecosystem partner can display this map on their own website as well.
- Every upstate community is now home to events like tech meetups, 1 Million Cups, StartUp Grind, Hack Upstate and more. The UNY Event Calendar gathers and displays all these events. It is easy to update, filtered by geography, and available for embedding in any website.
- The UNY50 Entrepreneur Leaders are individuals who are committed to Upstate NY and determined to help a new generation of founders emerge to sustain our region’s economy and communities. Read their bios and request an introduction to them.
- Last, but not least, anyone can now take small steps with a big impact on their personal visibility and the region wide ecosystem. To see what we mean, check out our new Ecosystem Growth page.
Please take a whirl through the new uvcdevelopment.wpengine.com and share your thoughts with us. As always, we remain grateful for your support and friendship.

P.S. Big thanks are due to the team at Singlebrook Technologies for building the map and calendar applications, Brian Hoke of Bentley & Hoke for managing all our web challenges, and our interns Conor Gilson and Jack Kinlan who pored over and verified every page, database entry and event listing.
