Online Event Coordinator (Contractor)

UVC is looking to engage a contractor to support online event coordination for its growing network of company founders and industry leaders/subject matter experts around topics of mutual interest.

Upstate Venture Connect (UVC) is a non-profit that connects high-growth entrepreneurs throughout Upstate NY with the people and resources needed for success. Our network spans thousands of company founders, investors and startup ecosystem supporters. Network members engage with UVC and each other through our Website, Blog, UNY50 Leaders, UNY Events Calendar and UNY Pulse Newsletters. We also host the annual Upstate Unleashed Conference recognizing Upstate’s top startup community leaders and featuring globally renowned entrepreneurs like Netflix Co-founder Marc Randolph, VC/Author Brad Feld and others.

Scope of Engagement

The contractor will organize and execute 2-3 online events each month using Zoom. For each event, the contractor will:

Create and maintain calendar of UVC-created events
Reach out to featured participants to confirm date/time and acquire collateral for promotion, chat window, etc.
Create individual registration pages for each event (graphic and text); add event to UNY Events Calendar
Create promotional content for UVC email invites, social media (pre- and post-event)
Coordinate various aspects of events (e.g. chat, breakout rooms, etc.)
Survey attendees to generate NPS score, identify post-event connection intent and areas for improvement
Record events; edit and post to UVC YouTube Channel
Generate post-event report showing attendance and engagement data; lessons learned

We estimate time commitment will vary between 10-20 hours/week based on the number of events. Contractor will be paid a monthly fee to deliver the agreed upon scope of services.

Key Qualifications

This a role that requires significant executive/leadership level interactions requiring strong oral and written communications skills and attention to details. The ideal candidate will also have experience using Zoom’s advanced features for organizing/recording meetings and webinars. Experience with video editing and creating simple graphics (Examples) is a plus.
