Rochester Venture Challenge Finals & Luncheon
High Tech Rochester Inc. has selected five early-stage company finalists for its 2017 Rochester Venture Challenge.
The five companies were selected from a pool of 35 companies that entered the competition in January. The finalists are competing for over $40,000 in cash and prizes.
The five finalist companies are:
• Empire Medicinals Inc., led by Qiaosong George Zheng;
• HZ Innovations Inc., Greyson Watkins;
• MicroEra Power LLC, Ellie Rusling;
• Primary Book Club, Erin Witmer; and
• ThermApparel LLC, Kurtis Kracke.
On April 27 at 9 a.m. at the Hyatt Regency Rochester, the finalists will present their companies to a panel of judges. The winners will be honored at the Celebration of Entrepreneurship Luncheon starting at noon.

The Rochester Venture Challenge is a collaborative effort among community organizations High Tech Rochester, Digital Rochester, The Entrepreneurs Network, Excell Partners, Nazareth College School of Management, Rochester Institute of Technology, and the University of Rochester.
