The Tech Valley Center of Gravity presents Food for Thought: A Business & Product Development Virtual Luncheon Series. Michael J. Lobsinger, Senior Vice President of Business Growth Solutions and the Manufacturing Extension Partnership at Center for Economic Growth presents will present a seminar and discussion on non-dilutive funding for manufacturing and product development startups such as SBIR, STTR, and other funding resources.

The format will be an informal discussion, with audience question and answer.
Michael directs the BGS|MEP team in providing exemplary support to manufacturing and technology companies with a focus on Continuous Improvement, Technology Acceleration, Growth & Innovation, Export, Supply Chain, Sustainability and Workforce Development. Michael has more than 17 years of experience ranging from engineering and product development, manufacturing, business development and operations. Prior to joining CEG in 2013, he was director of an incubator program, an entrepreneur, and was a senior engineer at Boeing. Michael earned a BS in mechanical engineering from North Dakota State University and an MBA from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is the Capital Region’s regional economic development organization, with over 265 investors in business, government, education, and the not-for-profit sectors. CEG is a New York Empire State Development Division of Science, Technology and Innovation-designated Regional Technology Development Center and an affiliate of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)/Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP). CEG work and vision is supported by more than 250 investors in business, government, education, and the not-for-profit sectors. Additionally, CEG serves as a regional technology center under the New York Manufacturing Extension Partnership program, which is facilitated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology and New York Empire State Development Division of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Three Upstate NY County Executives – Adam Bello from Monroe County, Ryan McMahon from Onondaga County and Anthony Picente from Oneida County) – will participate in an online conversation titled Rebuild Upstate: The View Ahead. The County Executives will describe their experiences navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and share their views on how to re-invigorate the regional economy in the months ahead.

This event will be the first in a series of Rebuild Upstate themed leadership conversations organized by Upstate Venture Connect. The Rochester Beacon, a nonprofit digital news publication is partnering with UVC on this effort to share a wide selection of leaders’ views from across the region.
