POWER Conference @ Welch Allyn
Sep 27 @ 8:00 am – 3:00 pm

P.O.W.E.R Conference, which stands for “Powerful, Optimistic, Women, Entrepreneurs, Retreat,” is presented and hosted by Women TIES, LLC in conjunction and sponsorship with two other Central New York female business associations with the intent of gathering women entrepreneurs from diverse business associations across Central New York to a female-only collaborative, community conference to elevate and further the golden state of entrepreneurship for women in this region of New York. Other sister business organizations will be invited to attend this positive event aimed at positively impacting each other’s business and the state’s economy.

The P.O.W.E.R. Conference will be modeled after Women TIES’ popular eight year event “Inspiring Success: The Women TIES Retreat.” This year P.O.W.E.R. will be held instead for the annual Women TIES Retreat at the Lodge at Welch Allyn in Skaneateles, New York on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. 200 women entrepreneurs will gather for a morning of inspiration and education followed by a networking luncheon to introduce different types of female business owners with each other to create new economic ‘ties’ to move our powerful female business agenda of collaboration forward.

The morning presentations will begin with a keynote address from New York State Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul on the impact of woman owned businesses and how we can further strengthen female businesses and status of women entrepreneurship in our state.

A panel of leaders of local women’s business associations will follow with focus on their specific niches and goals for the future as an organization and also collaboratively as a group.

The third presentation will be given by an inspirational female leader sharing ways to work collaboratively with other women to advance each other’s entities.

The morning presentations will be followed by a networking lunch where members from each sister organization will be invited to dine with new women to expand their networking and business market. Organization and sponsorship booths will be setup for visits and information.

The powerful day will end with an inspirational message and invitation by P.O.W.E.R. organizers Tracy Chamberlain Higginbotham, President of Women TIES, LLC, Gwen Webber-McLeod, President of the Board of WISE, and Laura Serway, Member of WPO on moving forward together.

We invite you to join us for this first of its kind conference in New York State aimed at bringing women entrepreneurs with diverse types of businesses, revenue levels, years in business and size together to unite and grow mutually with the future of women in business in mind because “Women together can be more powerful than alone changing the state of entrepreneurship for other women in Central New York.”

The mini-website with further details will be up August 1st. Mark your calendar now please, seats will be limited!

About the Presenter

New York State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul was elected in 2014. Prior to her role as a statewide official, she was elected at both the Federal and local level – she was a Member of Congress in New York’s 26th Congressional District, served as Erie County Clerk, and began her career in public office on her local town board.

The Lieutenant Governor chairs Governor Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Councils, which have reinvented economic development by empowering local leaders in business and academia. This strategy has brought more jobs than ever before to New York State.

As the highest ranking female elected official in New York State, Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul is committed to inspiring a new generation of women to enter public service or aspire to leadership within their chosen field through the #NYWomenLead initiative. The Lieutenant Governor spearheads the administration’s key efforts to advance equality, championing campaigns for fair wages, paid family leave, Enough is Enough to combat sexual assault on college campuses, and eliminating the wage gap. In 2016, she was elected chair of New York State’s Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission.

The Lieutenant Governor is dedicated to her role as the Governor’s eyes and ears on the ground. She makes a point of traveling to all 62 counties every year she’s in office, traveling enough miles to circle the globe over 3 times.
