UPSTATE, NY – (PRESS RELEASE) – As part the Upstate New York Tech Tour, national entrepreneur and investor Paul Singh will be scouting startups raising capital or in position to receive venture capital as he looks to expand his investor portfolio. He’ll also meet with hundreds of startup community members and angel investors to share his experience and help us move towards creating a sustainable venture economy in Upstate New York.

“UVC is honored that Paul chose Upstate New York as part of his national Tech Tour, and we’re especially thankful to have innovation supporters like AT&T help make all the events throughout the tour possible. Now hundreds of founders and startup supporters across our region will have the opportunity to meet one of the world’s leading entrepreneurs and angel investors,” said Nasir Ali, UVC Cofounder and CEO.

Out over 60 entries, Paul has selected twelve UNY startups for private Founder Hours in Syracuse and Saratoga Springs. This is a unique opportunity for Upstate startups to receive additional support and visibility on a national level.

AT&T’s support for Paul Singh’s Upstate New York Tech Tour aligns with the company’s ongoing commitment to foster local innovation by providing opportunities for entrepreneurs, technologists, makers and developers to create new technologies and ideas that could positively impact their communities and strengthen New York State’s innovative economy. This focus on spurring entrepreneurship and collaborating on initiatives such as the Tour grows out of AT&T’s multibillion dollar nationwide investment in the mobile communications network of the future, which is allowing local innovators to start and grow their companies in their own communities. We are honored to collaborate with Paul, UVC and all the other organizations involved to help shine a much deserved spotlight on the region’s robust entrepreneurial and innovation community,” commented Benjamin Roberts, Director of Public Affairs.

In addition to Founder Hours, over 500 members of Upstate’s startup ecosystem have already registered to “hang with Paul.”  Here’s a list of the amazing community events still open to the public.
