UVC has operated since 2010 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing thought-leadership, intelligence, and network building for high-growth founders in Upstate NY. We currently work with nearly 700 entrepreneurs, helping scale businesses through showcasing companies, personalized introductions, and invite-only gatherings.

Startup Community Advocate

Currently recruiting for future positions across Central NY, the Southern Tier, and the Adirondacks/North Country. UVC helps revitalize the Upstate New York economy by supporting venture-backable entrepreneurs.

Responsibilities

— Engage 3–5 new founders monthly, introducing them to UVC offerings
— Attend local entrepreneurship events in the community
— Organize or support 2–3 networking gatherings annually linking emerging founders with experienced UNY50 members
— Share regional founder news for Upstate-wide distribution via UVC channels
— Make email introductions for local founders who may benefit
— Track introductions, connections, and regional founders in UVC database

Ideal Candidate

— Curious about startups, entrepreneurship, and high-growth business
— Able to travel to and attend startup events locally and within their greater region
— Comfortable working independently and remotely while meeting performance expectations
— Located in Upstate NY
