Upstate NY founders gathered in Ithaca, NY on Thursday September 7th to recognize those leading the charge in transforming Upstate NY’s economy through entrepreneurship.
Co-Founders Nick Nickitas & Michael Ryzewic took home the Deal of the Year award for their company Rosie App, which was acquired by Instacart.
This year’s winner Rosie App, is an online grocery platform that was acquired by Instacart. Nick & Michael continue to lead operations for the small grocers category in the Northeast for Instacart.
UVC’s Deal of the Year Award recognizes exit and financing transactions for companies that are both delivering strong returns to investors and having a significant positive impact on employees and community stakeholders.
Zach Shulman was honored with the David Ahlers Master Ecosystem Builder Award.
This year, Zach Shulman has been recognized for his long-standing efforts to connect and grow Upstate NY’s startup ecosystem. Zach has led Entrepreneurship at Cornell for almost a decade while also serving as a dedicated board member for many years at UVC and Launch NY.
The Dave Ahlers Master Ecosystem Builder Award recognizes an individual who has had a major impact on the Upstate regional ecosystem.
