Case Study: Romix Biosciences

Conor Loy
Romix Biosciences was at a pivotal stage of growth, advancing its platform and preparing for the next phase of company development. The company needed not just capital, but the right partner who could help shape a thoughtful approach to raising and deploying it.

How UVC Helped
UVC facilitated a strategic introduction between Michael Gursha, a UNY50 member and experienced investor/operator, and Conor Loy, CEO and cofounder of Romix Biosciences, in summer 2025. From that introduction, several key developments followed:

Targeted Network Introduction
UVC connected Conor with Michael based on strong alignment in experience, investment mindset, and interest in supporting high-potential companies in the region.

Hands-On Collaboration
Following the introduction, Michael and Conor built a close working relationship. Michael became actively involved in advising on capital strategy and identifying opportunities to bring in new investors.

SPV Formation and Capital Access
Michael led the creation of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV), aggregating new investors and deploying capital into Romix Bio. This structure enabled the company to efficiently access funding from a broader network.

Results
UVC’s initial introduction ultimately translated into tangible financial and strategic outcomes for Romix Bio:

  • New Capital Inflow
The SPV expanded Romix’s investor base and added financial runway at a critical stage.
  • Long-Term Strategic Relationship
The collaboration between Michael and Conor highlights the depth of engagement that can emerge from UVC’s network—extending well beyond a single introduction into ongoing partnership.
