Registration is now open for the 2011 Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest and Entrepreneurial Celebration.  Entrepreneurs are encouraged to apply by visiting the High Tech Rochester website.

The Rochester Regional Business Plan Contest encourages entrepreneurship and recognizes new, high-growth ventures in the Greater Rochester New York Region.  This year’s contest will run from January – April 2011, culminating in the awarding of up to $50,000 in cash and prizes.  The winners will be selected by a panel of distinguished entrepreneurs and investors, and announced on Friday, April 15th at the 3rd Annual Celebration of Entrepreneurship Luncheon, which will also feature highlights and recognition of other community entrepreneurial successes.

The contest is open to for-profit companies headquartered in the Greater Rochester region (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties). Companies should have a scalable business concept with high growth potential. Companies must be early-stage defined as:

The first place winner will receive a $25,000 cash award and a suite of acceleration-based services that will seek to commercialize their product within twelve months.  Participating companies can also attend four workshops on how to plan and write your Business Plan presented by experienced entrepreneurs.

Apply for the contest, register for the workshops or purchase tickets for the Celebration Luncheon at www.htr.org starting January 5, 2011.

The application fee is $150 per company (workshops included).  Individuals can attend the four workshops for only $100.  Celebration lunch tickets are $45 per person or $400 for a table of 10.
